RAYMOND LIBRARY on the Yakima Campus also strives to meet additional information needs of YVCC students and employees at the Grandview Campus.  Access to most LIBRARY DATABASES and the ONLINE LIBRARY CATALOG is available via the Internet; however, database access is limited to currently enrolled YVCC students and employees.  Grandview students and staff are welcome to contact the faculty reference librarians (509-574-4991, ext. 2 or via EMAIL) for information about various services on the in Raymond Library which support the instructional and research needs of the Grandview Campus.
 

RAYMOND LIBRARY CATALOG: Use the ONLINE LIBRARY CATALOG to locate material owned by Raymond Library.  Materials may be requested through:
 
FAX: Print the Request for Materials Form, complete the requested information, and FAX it to
509-574-4989.  (Incomplete or illegible forms cannot be processed. A separate request form is required for each item [book, article] .)

 
IN PERSON:
 
Visit the Raymond Library on the Yakima campus.
 
MAIL: Print the REQUEST FOR MATERIALS FORM, complete the requested information, and mail it to Raymond Library, Reference Librarians, P.O. Box 22520, Yakima, WA 98907-2520.  (Incomplete or illegible forms cannot be processed.)
 
WEB: Submit the correct Web form listed below for books or for articles.  (Incomplete forms cannot be processed.)

Use this form to request articles from magazines, journals or other periodicals.

Use this form to request books and other materials (excluding periodical articles) not owned by YVCC.

   
CHECKING OUT BOOKS
FROM RAYMOND LIBRARY:
YVCC students and employees may check out books in person.  The Library requires either a valid YVCC student/staff ID or photo identification and YVCC ID number for all transactions.  Books requested by Fax, mail, or via the web are delivered to the Grandview Library for pick-up.  Books may be returned to the Grandview Library for delivery to Raymond Library on or before the due date to avoid late material charges (fines/fees).  Community residents within Yakima, Kittitas, or Klickitat counties may also borrow material from Raymond Library.  Community residents must have a photo ID and written proof of an address located within the three counties included in the college district to open an account.  After establishing an account, community borrowers need a photo ID and their library account number for all transactions.
 
ARTICLES (DATABASES): Individuals using Raymond Library have online access to a variety of subscription DATABASES.  The databases contain full-text articles from magazines, journals, newspapers, and reference books, as well as other online information.  There is no public access to the online databases purchased by YVCC  on the computers in the Grandview Library.  Access to most of the databases purchased by YVCC is available to currently registered YVCC students and current employees from any computer with internet access, including the computers in the Grandview Library.
 
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
THROUGH RAYMOND
LIBRARY:
INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) is available in Raymond Library for all currently registered YVCC students and currently employed staff.  Non-YVCC affiliated individuals need to request ILL's from their local public Library.  For additional information about ILL open the InterLibrary Loans link.  ILL's are delivered to the Grandview campus for pick-up.  ILL's will not be mailed to individuals due to restrictions placed on the Library by most lending institutions.
 
REFERENCE QUESTIONS
FOR RAYMOND LIBRARY
REFERENCE LIBRARIANS:
Reference questions may be asked either by phone (509-574-4991, ext. 2) or EMAIL.  Short factual answers are easily and quickly provided via email or the telephone.

In addition, you may submit your inquires through the Raymond Library 24/7 reference service.  Responses will generally not be from the Raymond Library reference librarians, but from a librarian employed by another institution.

STUDENT LAPTOPS: The Grandview Library has 20 student laptops available to loan to students on the Grandview Campus.  See STUDENT LAPTOPS for information about the policies and procedures.
 
TEACHING: Reference Librarians are available in Raymond Library to assist faculty in developing methods to promote the Library to their students.  Please contact one of the faculty reference librarians for more information.  Grandview faculty may borrow material from the Media Center.  Contact the Media Center (509-574-4982) for additional information.
 
INFORMATION LITERACY: Information Literacy workshops are taught in Raymond Library to help individuals use library resources more effectively.  Additional information, including tutorials, is available on the YVCC INFORMATION LITERACY webpage.
